  • Hi Guys, I have series 3 V12 with Strombergs which has 70,000 k on the clock. It leaks oil and could do with a complete rebuild. I have the chance of a fuel injection version with the ECU.

Really interested in your views on the pros and cons

  • Having taken the time to read sections from the E-Type service manual downloaded from here, I learned the importance of the correct setting of the kickdown cable. This was new to me previously believing it was either kicking down or not. I will check this out now prior to playing with the bands. I think this info may prove to save me quite some hassle. Shall update as and when. Thanks for the download.

  • Oooh, gorgeous! I want one also, please Santa...

  • Hello, I am new here as I am looking for company during my S1 restauration. Now and then I facing moments when I would like to have some advice, encouragemnt, hints, concerns ecc. ...

The S1 2+2 is my 2nd car while I am still enjoying my S1 FHC.
I am looking also for some spare parts and tipps where to source the better parts, not those who do not fit.

Thank you for questions and answers.

  • I have a 2+2 s3 71 and have taken out the headliner, the fiberglass insulation is still in place and looks ok. do most people replace this when they replace the headliner or can you simply gue the new headliner material to the fiberglass insulation?

  • Hi OpticsGuy. I saw your clutch M/C question notice in my email, but can't find the question on this site? Got a tip for us Rafe? Anyway, expand the lower crimped flange of the dust cover/cap, and you'll be able to access the internals. Depending on the rebuild kit, you might need to reuse the metal cover. However, with (40?) years of use/sitting, this aluminum-bored cylinder may need to be replaced. Be scrupulous in your inspection of the internals.

Rear view mirrors

Hi there,I am experiencing some problems to fix rear view mirrors to my 1968 E-type 2+2. See photos.Somehow the angle to the body does not seem right because I will not be able to see anything through the mirrors.Furthermore, once fixed to the body of the car door, the stem of the mirror does not tighten enough.Has anyone had the same problems and what solution is there to it?Kind regards Toon

Looking for an XK150 or XKE roadster

I am new to the Jaguar community.I am wrapping up restoration of a 1960 Mercedes 190sl and am looking for my next restoration project. I restore and I drive the cars I have restored. When searching for a Jaguar I have found what appears to be a number of bogus sites and sellers. I have had great advice from the Mercedes 190 forum, so I though a Jag forum would be my best source of reliable information both for locating a legitimate car to purchase as well as to query for advice on restoration…

First Start-Up

Hi gents. I've just rebuilt the upper half of the engine on my 1970 SII XKE FHC due to a bent intake valve, and I've replaced all belts, hoses, the radiator, the header tank, gaskets, distributor innards, and fuel lines, as well as all hardware in the cylinder head, itself. . After gapping the points, it started right up with full choke. It's noteworthy that other than the miss that resulted from the bent valve, the engine ran very smoothly before the tear-down.So, now that I've had the engine…
